Controls

The controls for Dream Soccer 2017 are explained in detail in the Tutorial and getting used to them can be tricky at first as you get to grips with the art of moving around, defending, passing and shooting. A good way to learn these skills is to start a new game against the A.I., pause it, go to the 'Settings' menu and then the ‘Controls’ submenu and see there what each of the buttons does and if need be customise them to suit your playing style.

Take advantage of the in-game camera to get a view of the pitch that best suits your playing style. Most Players tend to prefer controlling their players passing and shooting in 'Sideline' and 'Goal to Goal' views. Whichever camera type you decide on make sure it is the same one you practice with on 'Training' mode.

To change the in-game camera types to one of your choice you tap 'My Profile' at the top-right corner of the screen and then 'Game Settings'. From here you will now be able to tap on the arrows and experiment with the different camera angles available and select one that provides the best view and you feel comfortable with. You can also adjust the camera distance by setting it to a percentage. A 100 percent camera distance will zoom out whereas a 0 percent will zoom in to the field.

Players

When you start the game you are given a default lineup of players for your team and as you progress the game lets you recruit real FIFPro players to build your own team. You can also choose the formation you want your team to play in as you take on any team who stands in your way as you rise through 6 Leagues (Academy Division, Division 3, Division 2, Division 1, Junior Elite Division and the Elite Division) on your way to the top of the prestigious Elite Division.

For your players to perform to the best of their ability it is important that they are in their correct positions, you can easily tell if they are or not by the colour of their icon. If the icon is green your player is in their correct position, if the icon however is red you should consider moving them or changing the formation of your team to get maximum efficiency.

To help make your team as green as possible you can always do trades or search the Transfer Marketfor new players, there is also the option of upgrading players you already have on your team in the Player Development section for 50 coins a session which although expensive means you will not have to transfer in many other players.

Transfer Market

Try tp save your coins for the transfer market as this is the place where you will find rare or popular skilled Players that could end up being mainstays of your team. Although these players tend to go a little above market value it is worth regularly checking the transfer market as there is always the possibility of finding players that although not well known will have a high stat score and be right for the formation your team plays in.

What is a Free Transfer?
This is either a player that you released from your team, or has been randomly released by the CPU. The ratings for these Players tends to be low. To acquire a Free Transfer you need to go to the menu and tap the 'Transfers' button followed by 'Free Transfers', from there you will be able to sign anyone you want absolutely free. Note: Free Transfers don't count as actual transfers.

Top 5 Skill Moves in Dream Soccer 2017

# 1: Bicycle Kick
Without doubt the most spectacular and difficult kick in football due to the great amount of skill, concentration and athleticism needed to execute it. The bicycle kick is performed when the ball is airborne and the player hits it while doing a backflip. The ball can either come in the air towards the player such as a cross, or the player can flick the ball into the air. The great Brazilian striker Pele would often score using this skill. To perform the bicycle kick on Dream League Soccer 2017 you press 'C' then turn the arrow the other way.

Bicycle Kick

# 2: Scissor Kick
This kick is very similar to the bycle kick except it involves kicking the ball sideways in a 'scissors' motion while off the ground. The Dutch forward Marco Van Basten was a master of this skill. To perform the scissors kick in Dream Soccer 2017 you have to swipe sideways.

Bicycle, Scissor and Scorpion Kick

# 3: The Maradona
The Marseille turn or the Maradona as it is more commonly known these days after the Argentinan striker Diego Maradona who regularly used the skill to get past opposing Players while dribbling the ball. This move involves three steps, the master foot drag-back, the body spin, and the weaker foot drag-back. This skill can be performed when the player is stationary or during a run. To perform the Maradona in Dream Soccer 2017 you have to swipe down.

# 4: The Rainbow Kick
To perform this kick the player steps to the side of the ball and flicks it up round from the side of them so the trajectory of the ball arcs (hence the name) over the opposing player. The Brazilian striker Neymar will often perform the rainbow kick. To perform the rainbow kick in Dream Soccer 2017 you have to swipe up.

# 5: The Step Over
The step over is a dribbling move, or feint that is used by attacking Players to try and fool the defensive player into thinking they are are going to move in a direction they have no intention of moving in. The step over is a skill the Portuguese striker Cristiano Ronaldo uses regularly in games. To perform the step over in Dream Soccer 2017 you must tap the screen twice.
